Markt Wiesenttal
In 2007, the people of Markt Wiesenttal wondered how they could best visualize their region with its many castles, ruins and natural landmarks in order to attract more holidaymakers to their region. They chose the 360-degree panoramas of moving-pictures. First, a virtual holiday, then the real one.
Muggendorf and Streitberg are the oldest climatic spas of the region. Alongside other locations, they have belonged to the newly founded community of Markt Wiesenttal since 1972. The Binghöhle cave at Streitberg is still a much-loved destination for many a visitor to this holiday area.
The "Neideck" and "Streitberg" castle ruins, numerous natural landmarks, bizarre rock formations and a well-construed network of hiking trails are features that make both places excellent starting points for the most rewarding walking-tours throughout Franconia.
