Weissensee
At an altitude of 930 metres in the sunny, fog-free high valley of Weissensee lies the purest swimming lake of the Alps in the south west of Kärnten.
It is here that you can enjoy your holiday in a healthy climate. Indeed, it is no coincidence that the Weissensee region in Kärnten was awarded the "European Award for Tourism and Environment" and declared a Nature Park more recently.
It is a paradise to hikers, runners, Nordic walkers and mountain-bikers. Particularly in spring and autumn, Weissensee is an El Dorado for anglers. In the summer, the crystal-clear turquoise-coloured water can reach a temperature of 24°C and is ideal for swimming, surfing, diving and canooing. Furthermore, each hotel owner on the lake offers his premises' own beach. That's unique to the whole of Austria!
