All over Germany and Austria, UCI Kinowelt is in control of 27 Multiplex Cinemas with over 240 screens. We have over 2,000 staff members offering our guests the perfect cinema experience.
UCI Kinowelt has been operating in Germany since 1990. The first modern Multiplex Cinema was built in Huerth, near Cologne, over 14 years ago and was the first Multiplex Cinema on the European mainland ever. The opening of this cinema also ignited a new boom for cinema-goers throughout Germany. The conception was absolutely revolutionary: no more stuffy little carton-box-sized cinemas from the seventies and eighties, but spacious complexes with giant-sized screens and comfy seats that turn cinema-going into an event. Here, a cinema is a place where members of the whole family can enjoy their leisure time actively. That is the reason for the success of the UCI conception still today, although there have been many improvements, of course, and always bearing in mind that whatever a visitor should desire tomorrow, must already be fulfilled today.
