Hellbrunn Castle
Hunting lodges are for hunting, residences are for ruling and living in - but what is a "Lustschloss", i.e. a pleasure palace? The answer's quite simple: a place for celebrating, for having fun and for relaxing. A formal holiday residence with a park and fountains.
Around 1615 pleasure palaces were quite the fashion. At Hellbrunn that has hardly changed in 400 years. The only difference is that in those days, the fun was reserved for Prince Bishops like Markus Sittikus, amd now anyone can stroll through the park, take delight in the water fountains and have celebrations in the castle. Hellbrunn is a treasure chest full of surprises and opposites that attract. Move the mouse over the map and find out what to discover in the park, castle and gardens.
